We provide comprehensive ADHD evaluations that combine FDA-cleared objective testing (QbCheck) with a structured diagnostic interview and rating scales. Traditional ADHD assessments often rely only on an interview and rating scales, which can lead to under-, over-, or misdiagnosis. By adding objective measurement, our process gives patients, families, and referring providers greater confidence in the accuracy of the diagnosis. While full neuropsychological testing from a clinical psychologist is invaluable in complex cases, it is often costly or comes with long wait times, and is not always necessary when no significant co-occurring conditions are present. Our approach offers a timely, reliable, and evidence-based alternative.

ADHD Testing

A medical ADHD evaluation that you can trust.

At Mercury Mental Health, our gold standard medical ADHD evaluation process begins with an initial psychiatric evaluation and the ASRS v1.1 screening tool. This first step allows us to take a comprehensive history and identify any psychiatric or medical comorbidities that may be contributing to symptoms. If ADHD remains a concern, we proceed with the DIVA-5 structured diagnostic interview—a gold standard tool that systematically assesses ADHD across childhood and adulthood—and the Qbtech (QbCheck) test, an FDA-cleared, objective measure of attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Together, these steps ensure a thorough, evidence-based, and reliable evaluation process.

Fees

Most of the ADHD evaluation is covered by in-network insurance plans. However, the QbCheck test is not currently reimbursed by insurance and must be paid out of pocket by the patient.

  • At-home QbCheck: $150
    – Requires a computer with a webcam (phones and tablets are not supported).

  • In-office QbCheck: $250

We’ll walk you through the options and help you choose the format that works best for you.

Ongoing Care

ADHD evaluations at Mercury Mental Health are for patients establishing ongoing care with us. We don’t offer “testing-only” visits for outside prescribers. Our assessment is part of a comprehensive, ongoing treatment relationship at Mercury Mental Health. If you’re seeking a one-time evaluation to take to another provider, this service isn’t the right fit.

Next Steps

  1. Initial Psychiatric Evaluation (60 minutes)

Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation where we review your history, current concerns, and goals. This helps us create a clear starting point for your care.

  2. QbCheck ADHD Test (20–30 minutes, at home or in-office)

If ADHD is a concern, we may recommend a QbCheck test that provides objective data about attention, activity, and impulsivity.

  3. Diagnostic Interview for ADHD (30–60 minutes)

After your QbCheck results, we’ll meet again for a focused diagnostic interview. This step ensures we understand the full picture and can provide an accurate diagnosis. The QbCheck test and the interview can be done during the same appointment if the test is taken in-office.

  4. Follow-Up Appointments (30 minutes each)

Once a diagnosis and treatment plan are in place, we’ll schedule regular follow-ups. These visits focus on medication management, therapy, and ongoing support to help you stay on track.
